I read over at JCXP.net that Windows Vista will feature the sidebar and also a new thing called Gadgets. And everyone rejoiced. Well maybe not everyone.

I keep being unimpressed with what Windows Vista is showing, and I think the reason for that is my housemate, an ardent Windows user and Apple lover. He’s a graphic designer by trade, so he works with the Mac OS all the time, and he keeps telling me of all the lovliness that he has in his OS, and has gone on about Widgets again and again and again ad nauseum.

Now Windows announces this, which, by the first brief look I took, to be nothing more than an implementation of Widgets which are already available for the Mac OS.

But hey, at least it’s something.
