There are case mods and then there are case mods. This falls into the latter I think. I’ve seen some pretty impresive case mods where people spend a bucket load of time on the models which they make from scratch, but this guy, well, wow.

I read a few blogs each day and one of the ones that I often go past is a site called damninteresting.com. It’s quite the site and the link above will take you to one of the more recent articles that are typically interesting.
Nice site to waste a few minutes a day with.

Follow the link above for some stills and publicity shots. I’m going to enjoy this one I think. I’ve enjoyed the previous two installments, and I think that 2 was better than the first, so here’s hoping.

Of all people or groups, COSATU has actually gotten something right for a change. If you speak to any of the people that know me, no matter how vocally they may disavow that, will tell you that I have no love for COSATU and less love for trade unions, even if I do understand the [...]

Tech Dirt is running an article about Galactic Civilisations II by Stardock. The game doesn’t employ copy protection which is a surprise in the modern world of piracy and digital hijacking.
I think it’s great that they decided to trust the consumer and are making a success of the product. I wish some of the other [...]

Read an interesting article over on slashdot.org about what to expect from your IT Department.
It is interesting to see what people expect from their various departments and how much they understand and misunderstand. As per usual, when reading something like this, I apply it to my own position in the company that I work for.
I [...]

I was alerted to this by my buddy Andysan.
This is, to quote him, a big fookity. So McAffee releases a DAT file that essentially tells all it’s users that several hundred files are infected with a virus and advises them to delete or quarantine the lot.
Only problem is that these are all false positives and [...]

The US State Department has issued some draft RFID equipped passports to some of their diplomats. All in all it’s a big step, technically, because the encoding can apparently be hacked.
Y’know, privacy issues aside, and technical problems and all that, one can’t help but think what may be coming in the near future. Already there [...]
